Rations – The solution you want

When a crisis or accident occurs, reliable energy is required for personnel to be able to work effectively for a longer period of time. Having to allocate resources to arrange food is often neither practical nor possible, and the food that does arrive is rarely adapted for physically demanding work. With our background in defense, we know how crucial proper nutrition is to being able to complete the task, both during shorter intensive operations and during more sustained missions. This applies, for example, to intensive events such as forest fires, accidents and rescue operations, but also to more stationary tasks such as guarding and sustained presence.

To meet these needs, we have developed emergency rations, where each ration contains approximately 1100 kcal – the equivalent of a nutritious lunch or dinner, adapted for physical work. This provides flexibility to complete tasks for both shorter and longer periods of time, depending on how the rations are distributed and what other resources are available. The rations are nutritious, well-balanced and help maintain fluid balance. All components are approved and are currently used by NATO personnel, both nationally and internationally.

The emergency rations are procured and callable via Adda’s framework agreement “Food for emergency preparedness” for most rescue services, regions, municipalities and municipal companies, and are also included in the Police Authority’s own framework agreement for emergency food. For personnel with longer energy needs, the product category “full-day rations” is also available within the same Adda agreement, which provides further opportunity to adapt the solution to the needs of the operation.

The emergency rations are available in six menu types:

1. Lactose-free
2. Lactose and gluten-free
3. Vegetarian
4. Beef-based main course
5. Chicken-based main course
6. Lactose-free, gluten-free and vegetarian

The menus may vary in content depending on the current stock balance (then referred to as e.g. menu 2.1, menu 3.2, etc.) but basic requirements regarding kcal content (at least 1100 kcal), absence of a certain allergen (see colored circles on labels) or what type of main course the composite ration is based on are always the same.
